The Feasibility Study of a Commercial Camera for Future CubeSat Missions
Abstract:
This undergraduate thesis presents the work that has been done to feasibly integrate an OTSC camera, a GoPro Hero 3, into the satellite as a camera payload. As this is the first time the camera is going to go up to the Low Earth Orbit, there’s a dearth of information regarding its use in space. This thesis aims to reduce that gap. With research focused on both hardware and software aspect of the camera including analysis on thermal and stress components, the writing will present a detailed feasibility study of GoPro’s compatibility in space and eventual annexation as SNUSAT-I’s sole camera payload.
